Teeth Cleaning for DogsBrushing your dog’s teeth may seem like an impossible task. Our pups certainly don’t like to make it easy on us and that’s not their fault. Oral care can seem strange and maybe even a little scary to them as they don't fully understand the sensation of cleaning their mouths. Though they may not like it, it is a very necessary part to their overall upkeep. Though dogs and pets have mechanisms to try to keep their mouths as clean as possible these can’t always be one hundred percent effective. That's where we come in. Dogs need tartar buildup and plaque treated every so often as to prevent future teeth loss and gum disease. A common source of mouth pain for dogs comes from the inflammation of the gums. This makes eating, drinking and playing with toys painful. Though there are some home remedies to soothe aches, a thorough cleaning helps your pup have a longer term solution to painful oral conditions. We don't always have the capability of doing a thorough brushing at home, that's why our groomers are prepared with special doggy toothbrushes and canine safe toothpaste to freshen and cleanse your dog’s mouth so they can chow down on their favorite foods, treats and chew on their toys pain free. Ask our groomers about toys and treats we recommend to keep up with your dogs oral health in between visits!
We recommend combining oral care with treatments for the other sensitive areas of your dog. This way, if they are less comfortable with these types of treatments, we can get them all done in one go, rather than making them deal with the discomfort on multiple occasions! |
